PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Loyola Wolf Pack men's and women's swim teams started their 2026-27 season on Friday by traveling to the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. The Loyola men's team faced Thomas University (Ga.), while the women's team competed in a against West Florida and Thomas.
The men earned the head-to-head win over Thomas, 114-87, while the women's team placed second among the three teams with 28 total points.
Freshman Blair Foss led the Wolf Pack women, earning two second-place finishes and a program record in her collegiate debut. She swam a 31.48 in the 50-yard breaststroke and a 1:09.18 in the 100-yard breaststroke, and her 50-yard breaststroke time beat the previous program record by 0.34 seconds. Jossalin Lavicka added a third-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly, swimming a 28.43.
The men's team had four different first-place finishers throughout the meet. Junior Knox St. Amant won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:53.93; freshman Grant Castillon took first in the 50-yard freestyle in 21.75; junior Sergio Martínez Sanz swam a 49.10 in the 100-yard freestyle; and Carter Ory won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:03.75. Both Castillon and Ory set personal bests in their efforts.
