Loyola University New Orleans names LeBlanc Associate Athletic Director for Compliance

NEW ORLEANS — Loyola University New Orleans Athletics is welcoming Chad LeBlanc as its new Associate Athletic Director for Compliance & Administration, Assistant Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Brett Simpson announced on Tuesday. LeBlanc brings 17 years of intercollegiate athletics administration experience, including compliance leadership at the NCAA Division II and Division I levels, to the Wolf Pack.

"His experience at Spring Hill College and his law degree from Marquette University give him a strong understanding of Jesuit higher education and the values that guide our work. As Loyola prepares to transition to NCAA Division II, Chad's compliance expertise, sound judgment and familiarity with mission-driven athletics will be invaluable in strengthening our systems and helping position the department for long-term success."

LeBlanc joins Loyola from Spring Hill College, where he served as Deputy Athletic Director for Internal Affairs and Compliance since 2015. During his tenure, he built the college's compliance program from the ground up and guided the department through its transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II membership. Following that transition, Spring Hill won five conference championships and captured its first-ever Conference Commissioner's Cup.

I am thrilled to make New Orleans home, as it is a place that I have loved since I was a teenager back in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. I cannot wait to get started and engage with the campus community."
 

LeBlanc's compliance work extended well beyond his home campus. He served as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Compliance Chair from 2016-18 and sat on the NCAA Division II Membership Advisory Group from 2019-22, helping shape membership standards and best practices at the conference and national level. At Spring Hill, he chaired the Athletic Compliance Committee and served as the department's primary liaison with the NCAA and its conferences on rule interpretations and compliance resolutions, while also functioning as the athletics department's liaison to every unit across campus. He additionally secured a merchandise NIL agreement covering all of Spring Hill's student-athletes, positioning the department to navigate the evolving name, image, and likeness landscape. He also served as the college's Interim Athletic Director for the 2018-19 academic year, overseeing all facets of a 24-sport athletics department.
 

Before Spring Hill College, LeBlanc held compliance roles at the University of North Texas, where he served as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance from 2008-13 and administered a $4 million athletics scholarship budget; the University of Tennessee, where he directed compliance and legal externs; and Central Michigan University, where he began his career in compliance administration in 2007.
 

A licensed attorney, LeBlanc holds a Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School and a Sports Law Certificate from the National Sports Law Institute. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin. As a law student, he served on the editorial staff of the Marquette Sports Law Review and later published research on sports law topics, including issues related to NCAA regulation and the use of gaming revenues in professional sports facility financing.
 

Throughout his career, LeBlanc has been recognized for his service and problem-solving, receiving Spring Hill College's Extra Mile Award, Badger Staff Award, and Problem Solver of the Year honor, as well as the University of North Texas Soaring Eagle Award for exemplary customer service. In 2019, Spring Hill College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee created the Chad LeBlanc Service Award in recognition of his extraordinary efforts on behalf of student-athletes.
 

In his new role at Loyola, LeBlanc will oversee the university's NCAA compliance program, working closely with coaches, staff, faculty, and student-athletes to ensure adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations, while supporting the department's broader administrative and operational needs.
