Loyola competes at LaTour this week

MATHEWS, La. – The Loyola Wolf Pack men's golf team is staying close to home this week as they compete in the Nicholls LaTour Intercollegiate in Mathews, Louisiana. After 36 holes on Monday, the team is in sixth place out of nine teams in a field of all NCAA Division I opponents. 
 

Loyola carded a team total of 586 (+18) with one more round to play on Tuesday. East Texas A&M (-10), Southeastern Louisiana (-4) and Nicholls (-1) make up the Top 3 on the team leaderboard. 
 

On the individual leaderboard, Leon Mishkin leads the Pack in a tie for sixth place (-1). The sophomore started his first round with a birdie before moving to 2-over by the 10th hole. Another birdie and seven straight pars gave him a first-round 72 (+1). Mishkin started his second round with four birdies and a bogey through his first five holes, and he eventually moved down to 4-under through 10 holes. A double bogey on his 16th hole, though, brought him to his second-round 69 (-2). 
 

Peter Weirich had three birdies on his scorecard during his first round, as the junior shot scores of 72 (+1) and 74 (+3) on Monday to sit tied for 21st (+4). Cristobal Salome had three birdies during each of his two rounds to finish with scores of 77 (+6) and 71 (E) and a couple of spots behind Weirich in a tie for 28th (+6). 
 

Henry Day is next for the Wolf Pack in a tie for 36th (+9), followed by Manuel Corral in 58th (+21). Playing as individuals, Jude LeBoeuf is also tied for 36th with Day, and Oliver White is tied for 42nd (+11).
