OAKVILLE, Ala. – The Wolf Pack men's and women's cross country teams closed out the season on Friday with a trip to the Southern States Athletic Conference Championships in Oakville, Alabama. The Loyola men earned a fourth-place team finish out of nine teams, competing in an 8-kilometer race of 74 runners. Out of 10 teams, the Wolf Pack women took a sixth-place team finish in a 6-kilometer contest of 78 athletes.

The Wolf Pack had four athletes named All-Conference with
Drake Breland,
Jacob Kennedy,
Jace Luckoski, and
Jasmine Martinez earning the honor. Breland also earned a spot on the All-Freshman team along with qualifying for the NAIA National Championships in Columbia, Missouri, on Friday, Nov. 22.
The Southern States Athletic Conference also announced awards that included nine Loyola athletes on the Barnes & Noble College All-Academic Team,

Emma Meneses,
Madison Reado, Luckoski,
Alex Medina,
Joseph Medina, and
Connor Meigs. Badon and Meigs also earned spots on the Champions of Character Team.

Jasmine Martinez led the Wolf Pack in the 6-kilometer race with a 14th-place finish for a 24:23.99 time. Martinez's time of 24:23.99 is the fourth-best time in the Loyola record book and the second-best time by a Loyola woman in program history for the 6-kilometer race at the SSAC Championships. Sophia Freeze and Holly Hedrick were the next finishers for the Maroon and Gold, logging 25th and 30th places for times of 25:23.49 and 25:46.38, respectively.

Completing the race consecutively, Madison Leishman and Kinslie Badon earned 33rd and 34th places for times of 26:09.65 and 26:10.98. Caitlyn Summers took 49th place, logging a time of 27:56.76. Briana Bradley closed out the race for Loyola, taking 60th place and a 30:13.26 time.

Breland notched a seventh-place finish in the men's 8-kilometer race, recording a 25:59.00 time. Breland's 25:59.00 time is the seventh-best time in program history and the third-best performance in any year by a Loyola man at the SSAC Championships. Jacob Kennedy and Jace Luckoski finished back-to-back in the race, earning 14th and 15th places for times of 26:27.02 and 25:38.43, respectively.

Connor Meigs completed Friday's race in 21st place, logging a 26:58.95 time. In 33rd and 39th places, Evon Gocan and Alex Medina ended the contest with times of 28:28.43 and 29:01.92, respectively. Jacob Mullis was next in line, taking 47th place for a 29:23.06 time. Daniel Miller and Carter Scheuermann helped Loyola secure its fourth-place team finish, getting 57th and 61st places, recording times of 30:24.91 and 32:04.92, respectively.
